150 signed copies
And now, the time has come for Naglich to present his book (bearing the same name as the film) on Sunday, 7 February 2010, at Fischer's ISPO 2010 trade fair stand. Starting at 3.30pm the extreme alpine skier will present the first 150 visitors to the Fischer stand with a personal, signed copy. The trained architect will also be available for autographs and to talk about how he made his dream come true.
The thrilling story of a dream that can cost you your life
The book is about the remarkable production work that went into the movie. It tells the thrilling story of exceptional people on an exceptional mountain. A first-hand account that describes all the highs and lows of the expedition and the making of the movie. The book also takes a look at what went on behind the scenes. It looks at the dramatic history of the mountain, its discovery, the legendary first ascent by Prince Luigi di Savoia and the tragedy that struck a team of U.S. American mountaineers who risked a ski descent back in 2002 and triggered one of the largest alpine rescue operations in the history of the USA. The book also looks into how such an ambitious mountain feature documentary can develop and be realised, how the interaction between the film crew and the mountaineers is decisive and the impact it can have on decisions taken on the mountain. The breathtaking photography also captures the sheer absurdity and awesome beauty of this daring adventure again and again.
